in the Residential Multi (RM) project. On August 24 at 7 pm via Zoom, the
City Council will hold a public hearing to consider adding the RM project to
the list of 2019-2020 Comprehensive Plan amendments ("the docket").
The Planning Commission recommended adding the project to the docket on July
16.
Please see the public hearing notice below for additional
information, including the Zoom meeting link and how to provide comments.
If docketed, the RM project amendments will undergo another Type
VI legislative process, which includes Planning Commission and City Council

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the
Bellingham City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, August
24, 2020 at 7:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as possible, in a remote meeting, to
take public comment on the following:
Consideration of a draft resolution to add the Residential Multi
(RM) project to the list of 2019-2020 Comprehensive Plan amendments (“the
docket”). The project is anticipated to include additional analysis on the
following four components: 1) Establishing a simplified ranged zoning system
for all RM zones, 2) Developing a density bonus system for projects in RM
zones, 3) Allowing all Infill Housing Toolkit forms in all RM zones, and 4)
Setting minimum densities in certain or all RM zones.

hearing.

Wednesday, August 19, 2020 to be included in the agenda packet. Comment received after that
will be distributed to Council but not included in the published packet. Anyone

Multi (RM) project. On July 16 at 7 pm via Zoom (see attachment for
meeting link), the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to
consider adding the RM project to the list of 2019-2020 Comprehensive Plan
amendments ("the docket").
Meeting
materials will be available approximately two weeks prior to the meeting
at www.cob.org/meetings.
Public comments may be submitted to planningcommission@cob.org
at any time until the Planning Commission makes its recommendation. Please see
the attachment for more information on how to provide comments prior to and
during the meeting. The City Council will also hold a public hearing
to add this project to the docket (date TBD).
